NOTICE OF CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITY – SURFACE CARE AND MAINTENANCE – REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

Parsons, as the Main Construction Manager (MCM) for the Giant Mine Remediation Project (GMRP) and acting as both the Mine Manager and Prime Contractor, is soliciting a tender for the Surface Care and Maintenance (SCM) for the Giant Mine, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. This RFP is set up as a Regional Procurement Strategy for Indigenous Businesses, (PSIB).  More information on how to qualify as a PSIB business can find information here: https://www.sac-isc.gc.ca/eng/1587562362075/1587562382213  This Regional PSIB RFP includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• The SCM subcontractor will be required to perform the maintenance functions of the mine Site. However, they will also be assigned additional tasks to support the ongoing remediation. 
• The work included in this subcontract is comprised of all general care and maintenance of the surface infrastructure and facilities at Giant Mine. This includes ongoing operation, maintenance, inspection, testing, and repairs required to maintain the Site equipment in a safe, serviceable condition.
• The SCM subcontractor is to provide all mobile equipment, including certain pieces of equipment that must either be on Site on a full-time basis or available within two hours.

A mandatory pre-bid and site tour meeting is scheduled for March 9, 2023. Bidders must register to attend.

Work is anticipated to start June 2023.
