Area of Contract
The Area of the Contract for the Giant Mine Remediation Project is within the Môwhi Gogha Dè Nîîtåèè area, as defined in the Tłichǫ Land Claims and Self-Government Agreement and the Akaitcho Asserted Territory as defined in the Akaitcho Interim Measures Agreement. This is important for potential bidders as the Giant Mine Project utilizes Indigenous Opportunities Consideration (IOC) guarantees and Procurement Strategy for Indigenous Businesses (PSIB) to maximize local area Indigenous employment, training, and business opportunities restricted to the Area of the Contract.
