NOTICE OF CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITY – AR1 FREEZE SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION
Solicitation No. RFP-476721-0085
Parsons, as the Main Construction Manager (MCM) for the Giant Mine Remediation Project (GMRP) and acting as both the Mine Manager and Prime Contractor, is soliciting a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the AR1 Freeze System Construction at Giant Mine, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. As a drilling and specialized instrumentation installation Construction Work Package (CWP) Work will include, but is not limited to, the following:
- The furnishing of all materials, equipment, tools, implements, machinery, supplies, temporary lighting, water, heating, scaffolding, shoring, temporary works, dewatering, transportation, quality control (QC) inspection and testing, commissioning, reporting, labour, and superintendence necessary for the construction and installation of the AR1 Freeze system in coordination with the proprietary thermosyphon vendor, which includes:
- 189 Long Thermosyphons
- 67 Short Thermosyphons
- 23 Monitoring holes
- ~18,000 linear metres of drilling
- Deconstruction of the Freeze Optimization Study (FOS) infrastructure.
A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference and Site Visit will be held February 10, 2026 at 09:00MT. Registration is currently open for interested participants. Bidders must register with the Subcontract Administrator, via email to Procurement.GMRP.Parsons@parsons.com, for the pre-bid conference and site visit to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend (maximum of two representatives per company).
