ADVANCE NOTICE OF CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITY – EARLY WORKS DRILLING PROGRAM

Parsons, as the Main Construction Manager (MCM) for the Giant Mine Remediation Project (GMRP), will be soliciting a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a drilling program at Giant Mine, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Work will consist of providing diamond core drilling equipment capable of completing HQ3 sized boreholes and triple tube coring techniques for vertical and angled holes as specified. Drilling will include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Confirmation drilling of previously backfilled stopes (four observation boreholes, approximately 155 to 160 metres long, HQ3 size)
- Paste delivery to open stopes (approximately 55 boreholes, 25 to 100 metres long, 96.1 mm and 200 mm diameter)
- One hole approximately 470 meters in length, 96.1 mm diameter requiring directional drilling capabilities with a deviation tolerance of 0.8 percent
Work is anticipated to start in May and finish at the end of June 2021.
