Parsons Inc. (“Parsons”) is the Main Construction Manager (MCM) for the Giant Mine Remediation Project (GMRP), acting as the Prime Contractor and Mine Manager. Parsons is committed to ensuring procurement will be conducted in a fair, open and transparent manner while addressing Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement (CLCA) obligations and the Government of Canada’s procurement objectives regarding Indigenous opportunities. 

Parsons is hosting an online Industry Day 2020 on October 20-22, 2020 inclusive. Upon receipt of the Class A Water License there is an opportunity to initiate remediation activities in 2021 and 2022. These early works activities include the following.

  1. Townsite deconstruction
  2. Construction of the non-hazardous waste landfill
  3. Construction of the AR1 freeze pad
  4. Underground stabilization
  5. Disposal of arsenic trioxide waste in Chamber 15

Parsons is committed to aligning tendered work packages with local area and Indigenous labour force and business capacity to maximize Indigenous training, employment, subcontracting, and other opportunities involving Indigenous citizens and businesses in carrying out the work under this project.
